Updates from the Trail

We love the outdoors and even more, we love sharing the outdoors. Keep updated with everything going on at Explorer and all the latest news from our adventure.

Feature Friday: Photos + Comments

You can venture out into the woods without a great camera and people to enjoy it with. This morning we extended the API services to include calls for photos and comments. These are vital to any application and especially to applications bringing the outdoors to their users.

Photos

Photos serve as a powerful way to connect the overall user experience. For applications, we’ve included easy photo deliver for locations allowing your users to explore the outdoors from anywhere.

Comments

Whether you’re looking for reviews or location notes, comments provide a great way to help facilitate the user interaction within your application. We’ve included both pull and push services for comments in regards to locations.

These new services will continue to be improved over the coming weeks to help bring further feature rich user experiences to your applications.

*As always, bear mace is still not included.

API Registration Now Open

As many of you are aware, we’ve decided to take a new trail and tighten our focus on our core product, the Explorer API. This new API allows any iOS, Android, or web application to easily and securely integrate the outdoors. With locations, users, badges, meet ups, and even products, this new service gives everyone access to build the best outdoor social engagement layer and target brand advocates everywhere.

The registration to access the API is now open and we’ll be making some exciting new announcements in the coming weeks as we unfold implementations currently in the works by leading online retailers and local applications.

A New Trail, A New Adventure

We’re really excited to release a brand new API platform that easily allows applications to connect to the outdoors which includes a wide range of user experiences and social layers. For retailers and outdoor brands, this new platform extends their reach into offline activity and interactions with their products and overall brand.

Over the next few weeks, we will be rolling out some exciting new features for iOS, Android, and web applications which include rich libraries and API implementation guidelines.

Also, keep watch on news coming next week regarding updates on use cases by a few of today’s top outdoor brands and organizations.
